VERO BEACH — The Rotary Club of Vero Beach recently began distributing booklets containing the U.S. Constitution and Declaration of Independence to every fifth-grader in the Indian River County school system.

The initiative, led by club president Opey Angelone and directors Larry Parks and Bob Houlihan, planned to deliver more than 1,300 booklets to IRC’s 14 elementary schools before election day.

The 46-page booklet is published by Children’s Literary Publishing. It includes the full text of both documents and historical references to their origin, study questions and discussion topics for the students and a list of websites from which they may learn more.

The Rotary Club of Vero Beach was chartered in 1926. It’s Vero Beach’s first club and Florida’s 15th. For more information, visit rotaryofverobeach.com.
